Issue One: The Table

£4.00

This first edition of The Gravesend Journal tells the story of Tony and Vicki Harris, who founded a community group, The Table, to feed the homeless and those in need. The Table led the couple on a journey that would change their lives, seeing Tony giving away all their money and most of his clothes. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, they were feeding up to 50 people six nights a week.

"I was working on a good wage, and I said, I'm going to stand in town and give everything away..."

I photographed with them in 2021-22. There are more photographs, plus an interview with Vicki and Tony, on the blog.

The following print issue will be available from the end of March. To make it as widely available as possible, print editions are sold at cost, £4, including UK postage.

I’m keen to cover any important local story. Please get in touch if you have a story to share or a subject that needs highlighting.
